Anger: The Deepest Form of Care

A One-Day Wild Grace Retreat

Exploring anger, care, and the wisdom hidden within one of our most powerful emotions.

Anger is one of the most misunderstood emotions we carry.

Many of us have been taught to fear it, suppress it, or judge ourselves for feeling it at all. Yet anger often appears in the places where something meaningful is at stake—when something we love feels threatened, when a boundary has been crossed, or when we encounter something that feels unjust.

Inspired by David Whyte’s reflection on anger in Consolations, this one-day Wild Grace retreat invites participants to approach anger with curiosity rather than judgment.

Anger may not be the problem we imagine it to be. It may be pointing us toward something we love.

Throughout the day we will create space to reflect on anger with honesty and care, exploring what it reveals about our relationships, our values, and the places where we feel vulnerable or deeply invested in the world around us.

This retreat is not about suppressing anger or excusing harmful reactions. Instead, it offers a thoughtful setting in which to better understand one of the most powerful and human emotions we experience.

  • A Final Word...

Anger is often something we try to silence or escape. But when approached with honesty and care, it can become a doorway into deeper clarity about what matters most to us. This retreat is an invitation to slow down, listen more carefully to what anger may be revealing, and consider what it might mean to carry this powerful emotion with greater awareness.
